Customary techniques for heating and cooling require burning a fossil fuel or wood on site and the expulsion of heat, particulate matter and damaging emissions into the atmosphere. Using one of four methods IES will provide a system for the water normally circulated throughout a building to also flow through ground loops to either absorb or transmit heat using natural thermal exchange. The constant temperature of the ground enables IES to maintain an efficient transfer of energy throughout the year reducing the cost of heating and cooling.
The myth of keeping your home at a single low temperature to avoid using more energy has
been overturned by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy.
Using the system called “setback” – reduce or turn off your heat when you’re sleeping or
not at home – buildings will be more efficient and comfortable. Be mindful not to turn
off the heat completely in freezing temperatures which may damage installed equipment.
